angelique the educator
Angelique, known by her students as Ms. Niare currently teaches High School Social Studies for Clayton County Public Schools. She started her career as a paraprofessional teaching in an Autism Transitions Unit September 2015. The following summer she took her educators exam but unfortunately was unsuccessful in passing the math portion of the exam. That did not deter her!
When another position opened at the school, she transitioned to teach as an extended substitute as a Special Education Co-Teacher. Throughout that school year she started a yoga club for the students and studied to pass the math portion that she had previously failed. She passed!! She then enrolled in a Masters program that will also present her with a teaching certificate. She was now in the position to be hired as a certified educator. The summer of 2017 she was offered the position to teach American Government and U.S. and World Affairs by the school she had been diligently working in for two years.
Her First Classroom!
She was ecstatic to achieve a goal she had worked so hard for. To fulfill all of the requirements for her new position, she then had to pass the certification exam to teach political science. She took the exam November 2017 and passed at the "Professional Level", which makes her a highly qualified educator for that content!
She is now one of the Sponsors for the school's chapter of the National Beta Club and is also the school's Ambassador for the United Way.
Ms. Niare loves to support her students and parents by participating in curriculum night and enjoys participating in school activities including homecoming, supporting games and county-wide events.
